There are so many beautiful places to visit at your leisure along the River Avon, but we recommend:

PERSHORE

Renowned for its Georgian architecture, Pershore is a picturesque market town that sits on the banks of the River Avon. Even more eye catching than the buildings is Pershore’s Abbey, founded in 689, which is still open to the public today in the summer. The Abbey is dominated by a 13th century tower, which can be climbed for beautiful views of the Vale and Bredon Hill.

TEWKESBURY

Tewkesbury is a picturesque historical town made up of quaint timber-framed buildings and medieval black and white landscapes. As well as many country pubs and restaurants, there is also Tewkesbury Abbey and Tewkesbury Museum to visit, as well as some shopping.

EVESHAM

Evesham is located on the bank of the River Avon, and lies between Malvern and Bredon Hills and the Cotswolds. Evesham has the beautiful ruins of Benedictine Abbey to visit, situated on the banks of the River. Abbey Park also borders the river, and is a perfect spot for picnickers who wish to enjoy the scenic landscape. If you’re a fan of brass and silver bands, you can enjoy live music from the Victorian bandstand every Sunday afternoon throughout the summer.

STRATFORD UPON AVON

Stratford upon Avon is situated in the Heart of England, and is an old market town with picturesque surroundings. The birthplace of William Shakespeare, Stratford upon Avon is also steeped in British history with many attractions to visit including The Royal Shakespeare Company, Shakespeare’s birthplace, and Anne Hathaway’s cottage – Shakespeare’s wife.
